I haven't posted in over seven years! Here's a post! See you in 2022!

The weather up here just royally sucks. Saturday it was sunny and near 80 degrees. Monday evening, it's in the 30's and pouring big time. We only had one decent day to deal with, so I ran out and played some tennis and got some grocery shopping done. The rest of the weekend was relegated to cleaning, some FFXI and Shadowrun, and lazing about.

I spent the weekend rearranging the front room and cleaning the condo. The front room now looks much more spacious. I moved the t.v. and HDTv over by the sliding glass windows and the couch near that pseudo-wall between the main room and dining room. Now, I don't have all these cat5 wires running across the room. I did about ten loads of laundry and made many trips to the garbage/recycle bins outside. So, I made some decent progress on getting this place looking decent. I still need to get some furniture and torch lamps but will hold off on that for a bit.

I didn't get around to grocery shopping but did stop by Target and bought a new router (Belkin) and xbox 360 wireless controller (black). I had had enough of the amazingly crappy performance of my previous Netgear wifi router so I took a hammer to it to teach it a lesson, then threw it away. I also made the five mile jaunt to the Pizza Hut/Taco Bell drive-thru in Bellevue. They messed up my order, but what'd you expect from no-skilled, south-of-the-border immigrant workers?

I did find some time to play some Shadowrun in the evenings, but my Comcraptic ISP was causing too many problems to play very long before giving up on it. I manage to level my WHM in FFXI from 72 to 74 over the weekend as well despite being disconnected often.

I paid a load of bills online and have almost gotten a good deal ahead of them. Once I get my tax return back, I should be in really good shape.

You ever notice that a lot of people from India answer every question with "Yes" before actually responding? This his got to be one of the most annoying as hell things to deal with daily. Every time I ask a certain couple of people a question at work, I have to ask multiple times to figure out what the hell they're saying when they answer. I've been dealing with this for so many years from so many local workers from India. This makes dealing with their brutal accents just that much more difficult.

Me> "Did you finish that work item I need?"
Kumar> "Yes"
Me> "Oh yeah?"
Kumar> "The thing is I will finish it tomorrow."
Me> "What?"

Many episodes like the above happen daily and drive me up the wall.
I've begun telling these repeat offenders not to answer "Yes" to every question before actually answering. Perhaps, I'll prod a bit and find out if it's a stupid cultural thing. My Indian co-workers who are more English competent don't seem to do this, maybe I'll ask one of them what the deal is with this annoyance.
